The ordeal has finally come to an end. Today, two teen girls are back at home safe. Their captor, Rickey Donnell Jones, is now locked up in Knoxville, Tennessee. He’s facing at least two counts of kidnapping. The FBI is currently deciding on possible other offenses to charge him with. It all started innocently enough when Jones was about to start a furniture run.

The 18-year-old was already on the truck with Jones, who was a family acquaintance. The 16-year-old Lancaster girl was on her way home, but decided to join the group. Both girls figured they would ride around in the truck for a few hours. Jones had other plans. Soon, Jones got on the highway and refused to stop. The girls asked to phone home, but Jones was not about to allow that.

They were being held against their will. Jones finally decided to sexually assault both teens. According to Knox County Sheriff spokeswoman, Martha Dooley, Jones threatened the teens’ families. Leaving was not an option. Despite the 16-year-old’s mother contacting police about her missing daughter, the police did nothing. They figured it was just another runaway case.

The event hit a climax when Jones pulled into a truck stop in Knox County. The 16-year-old was allowed out of the truck to use the restroom. According to Dooley, she then rushed to a phone and called her mother. Her mother ordered her to tell the clerks what happened, which she did. The clerks immediately dialed 911 and hid the girl in a stockroom. Soon, police were on the scene. They found the 18-year-old girl in the truck, but Jones was not there.

Jones went into the truck stop to look for the now missing 16-year-old. What he found was the police. Jones was immediately arrested. He was charged with kidnapping. According to Dooley, he’s being held on $200,000 bond. Apparently, Jones has been previously convicted on two counts of kidnapping—in 1998—and two counts of making a criminal threat.
